I participated in the Connecticut Counselor’s Day at the University of Connecticut.
Spent the day on the Storrs campus of the University of Connecticut for Counselor Day. We heard from President Susan Herbst, who told us about the Next Generation Connecticut plans which will bring new investments to the university. We heard from Admissions and also Financial Aid. I was very impressed with their student panel and their advice for incoming freshmen. I also attended a very interesting workshop about considering ethnicity and race in college admissions from the Bakke to Fischer cases. We learned the history of this important case on affirmative action that will have an impact on college admissions across the country.
